It seems appropriate that the Culture Shop edition of Gigapan Magazine is being released on Black Friday, a day of low retail prices and consequent customer chaos. It is a cultural phenomenon unique to the United States. Some say it represents a culture of consumerism and capitalism.
Buy Nothing Day is observed on the same date by activists in North America - and internationally the following day.
We hope that the Gigapan photos featured in this magazine similarly convey a variety of cultural phenomena and thought. (from North America and from around the globe)
